Why a marketplace?

After 10 years of researching and developing the best solution for providers, managers, sponsors and supporters of the arts, media and entertainment, we found a few issues. Issues such as; the current economic system, creative' mindset, inflation of stories value, attention of fans, complex revenue distribution and conservative collaboration culture. 

The solution:
Pindify; the digital marketplace where providers and managers of arts, media & entertainment can collaborate, engage and monetize from supporters and brands.

Pindify’s mission is to create a market for 300,000 providers & managers for arts, media and entertainment to earn $3,000 and up per month.

Issue of the economic system.

Why is the current economic system for arts, media & entertainment either big production industry or a government bureaucracy? The Industry take high risk on a few providers with large sums on promotion, fan engagements and distribution. While the government, spends large amounts on scholarships and grants towards providers inside the frame on what is considered government culture.

Pindify don’t necessarily frown upon such economic systems, but it only works with 5% of the creative class.  Pindify’s marketplace can offer 35-40% of the creative class revenue. Pindify offers a completely different approach. Pindify has providen that providers and managers can earn more revenue from just a few dedicated fans. Today on Pindify 100 dedicated subscribers can generate more than 300 000 views/listens on streaming services. We furthermore offer a decent chance for the rest of the up and coming creative class to collaborate and grow to be heard and get paid. 

Issue of mindset.

The creative class does not appear differently in gender or culture. It’s their mindset with high attention towards life purpose, rather than short term measurable goals. 

The majority of the creative class value structure, rewards and emotions differently than others. It’s neither good nor bad, however; today's society emphasizes short term measurable goals and structure to get a loan approved or get paid on a recurrent basis.

Even Adam Smith (strong promoter of the free market) actually had a skeptical approach to self-interest as a driver of behavior for the creative class. In his book The Theory of Moral Sentiments, he worries;

There are evidently some principles in a creative’s nature, which interest them in the fortune of others, and render their happiness necessary to them, though they derive nothing from it except the pleasure of seeing it.”

And in his latter book The Wealth of Nations, Adam Smiths writes:

It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages.

Pindify will not try to change the creative mindset, or ask anyone to “sell out”. Instead we  focused on providers terms and taylored the marketplace towards fan relations, collaboration and revenue options. A marketplace where providers and managers collectively invite and engage their fans, as well as selecting the options to earn revenue on subscription, branding, e-commerce or financial services. 

Issue of value.

Today’s devaluation of content is a result from that everyone can produce, publish and distribute all types of content on many different forums and platforms. Fake news, videos of cats and other noise hinders the audience to easily find thoughtful and managed productions. Especially since the “crazier” or “cuter” the content is the greater the sensation. Additionally, brands have little control on timing, valid insights, what type of content and where their current programmatic sponsoring services reach.

Pindify does not frown upon fun and easy entertainment, but our purpose is to assist dedicated providers to be heard and get paid from their valued supporters, and not for sensationalism to reach the masses. Again, Pindify offers a completely different approach; A free social forum but to publish premium content members needs to become “providers” and to get access to premium content supporters needs to become paying subscribers. 

Meanwhile brands receives a more compelling marketing impact by connecting to real and motivated supporters through providers (i.e micro influencers). By organizing their market material on their portfolio and matching their marketsgements in detail with provider’s dedicated fan segment, brands receives a much higher engagement and likelihood of impact or direct sales. All insights of views, engagement and sales are in realtime.

Issue of attention.

Streaming services only offer in-house promotion. and offer no direct interactivity with fans. Social media only display sensational “trending” content and randomly distribute content between providers to supporters, making it difficult for providers to reach their true fans and for supporters to organize their favorite content. Even if providers pay for promotion on social media, the content reaches only a few. 

Pindify establish clear communication channels. To provide freedom to publish Pindify offers all categorised content (audio,video, text, image), on many different feeds (home, market, library, portofolio). Providers can organize content and invite fans to their portfolios. Content can be sent to, lists and library, reposted or shared to other social media platforms. Providers publication reaches 100% of their follower’s home feed. 

To ensure democratic quality on the marketfeed Pindify has a ranking system that validates portfolios by how engaged their audience is. Providers or sponsors can also pay to promote content to be shown if their genre, mood, subject when being searched for or filtered out.

Brands receives a more compelling marketing and sales impact by connecting their marketing content on Pindify. Both providers and their supporters can amplify the message by reposting on the Pindify feeds and sharing it out on other social media platforms.

Issue of revenue distribution.

According to PWC’s 2019 edition of Global Entertainment & Media Outlook the total global Entertainment & Media annual revenue is set to see growth from $2,100,000,000,000.00 up to $2,600,000,000,000.00 by the end 2023. This pace is close to historical trends, even as shifting consumer behaviors reshape the industry. Thats a whopping freshly baked $500,000,000,000 in year 2023!!! 

Most Streaming services focus on amusing the masses or a minimum price. It will be hard for providers and managers to fight big catalogs of content for a very low price. 

Pindify estimates that 80% of the audience simply consumes content, while 20% actually supports providers context, content and relations. But here’s some interesting data, Supporters are responsible for 80% of Providers current annual revenue. Pindify, takes 10% from the market for our services, the rest is directly distributed to providers and managers according to their rev share agreements.

Issue of collaborative culture.

The current channels of promotion on social media and distribution on streaming services creates a big gap between the management of ownership & rights and reaching customers and payments back to managers, owners and rights holders. It complicates the collaborations between providers themselves and their management.

Meanwhile creating stories (music, films, books, podcasts, articles etc) takes time, consistency, and a lot of passion, and it can be difficult to finalize, promote and make ends meet. To maintain the momentum of creating something amazing and become a viable business, managers and their networks are needed. 

Managers such as, agents, management, promoters, labels, publishers, rights organizations, investors  etc. needs to invest their time and risk money into a crowded industry with altering channels of promotion and distribution. 

Pindify’s marketplace connects social relations with revenue distribution according to 3rd party data API’s from institutions, aggregators, and crosschain. We also made it possible to divide and share revenue with other providers and managers, so that collectively, we can grow our marketplace from within and generate new projects and compositions from a place of creative synergy.

Issue of organisation.

The road to becoming a trademark such as THE band, magazine, book, blog is shorter today, but it’s very decentralized. Providers “needs” to have a website for info and contact, youtube for videos, instagram for social updates, facebook for fanpages, patreon for donations, linked in for business networking, aggregators for reaching distribution channels, rights organiZations and publishers to handle rights, advertise on programmatic services, google for insights, crm system to handle payments, cms systems to handle publishing, Docu-sign to handle contracts, live appearance to get fans and hopefully providers and managers can start growing, earning and becoming a trademark.
